Mission Statement
One Manassas is an independent political action committee dedicated to putting the interests of the Manassas region first.
We believe that informed residents, working alongside principled leaders, can accomplish more together than government alone.
One Manassas exists to inform, engage, and unite our community. We believe local government works best when elected officials focus on local priorities. While national issues will always exist, our greatest opportunity to make a difference is right here at home. We support leaders who put Manassas first and make decisions based on facts, measurable results, and what is best for our community, not political ideology.
We believe our community’s greatest strength is its people. Lasting solutions require collaboration among residents, educators, businesses, community organizations, local governments, and regional partners. When people are informed, engaged, and united around common goals, there is very little our community cannot accomplish.
We believe government should be measured by results. Every policy, budget, and major decision should answer one simple question:
“Is this what’s best for Manassas?”
We believe that just because a community grows does not mean its quality of life has to decline. Responsible leadership means protecting our neighborhoods, preserving our history, strengthening our schools, supporting local businesses, and planning for a future that benefits both current and future residents.
Our schools, neighborhoods, economy, infrastructure, and public safety are all connected. The best solutions come when residents, schools, local governments, businesses, and community organizations work together toward common goals. It truly takes a village, and our village extends beyond city and county lines.
We reject personal attacks and political tribalism. We believe disagreement can be respectful and productive when grounded in facts and a shared commitment to our community.
We ask difficult questions, encourage respectful debate, evaluate every issue on its merits, and measure success through facts, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
Our loyalty is to the Manassas region and the people who call it home.
Vision
To build a community where residents once again believe their local government listens, responds, works together, and makes decisions based on facts, accountability, measurable results, and what is best for the Manassas region.
We envision a community where local issues come first, residents are informed and engaged, leaders are held accountable, and every generation leaves the Manassas region stronger than the one they inherited.
Guiding Principles
Local Comes First
Our focus is on the issues that directly affect our families, neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and quality of life. We believe the strongest communities are built by people who invest in their own backyard first.
Independent Thinking
Support ideas because they are right for the Manassas region, not because they come from a political party, advocacy group, or outside organization.
Accountability
Every elected official should be willing to explain decisions, measure results, and accept responsibility.
Transparency
Government earns public trust through openness, honest communication, and meaningful citizen engagement.
Fiscal Responsibility
Residents deserve responsible budgeting, efficient government, and careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
Safe Neighborhoods
Public safety, neighborhood standards, and quality of life are fundamental responsibilities of local government.
Strong Schools
Strong schools require strong partnerships among parents, teachers, students, local government, businesses, and the community. Education is a shared responsibility.
Responsible Growth
Growth should improve our quality of life, protect the character and history of our community, and create opportunities for future generations.
Respectful Civic Engagement
Ask hard questions. Listen respectfully. Welcome different viewpoints. Work together to solve problems.
